Corona Virus – Update

In light of recent events surrounding the Coronavirus or Covid-19 outbreak, we wish to update you on the Society’s business continuity plans and to reassure you that we remain available Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm to service: –

  • New Business Enquiries
  • Claims
  • Payment of your accounts
  • All other administration functions

In order to continue providing the high standards of service that you are accustomed to, we have put in place a number of measures as detailed below: –

  • With immediate effect a number staff will be working remotely to maintain appropriate separation.
  • A core team will remain in our office each day, unless restrictions are imposed upon us by the authorities.
  • As with some other local offices we will unfortunately not be able to receive Members or visitors into our office at the present time, for the protection of our staff.

As you will no doubt be fully aware this is a global situation, whereby financial service entities will be implementing their own continuity planning procedures and therefore delays in certain response times are inevitable. We will of course attempt to minimise such delays where possible and appreciate your understanding during this difficult time.

Method of Payment – Cash no longer acceptable*

It is with regret that as a consequence of the Covid 19 pandemic and in line with Government advice, the Society will no longer be able to accept, with effect from 1 June 2020, bank notes or coinage as a method of payment.

As you will appreciate the safety and wellbeing of both yourselves, the Members and our staff are at the forefront of our minds during this difficult time. In an effort to assist Members with this change, we have recently installed new debit/credit card equipment which can now accept: –

  • All debit/credit cards (including AMEX)
  • Apple/Android Pay
  • Contactless transactions
